Sunday, 28 February 2010. Green Belts (16 kms)

This Sunday (28 February) we will be doing the Green Belts run.

We start from the VOB Club house at 7.00 am and go down to the Alphen Trail which we follow up to the first coke stop at Brommersvlei.

We then follow the Diep River Trail all the way up to Southern Cross Drive for the second coke stop.

We then regroup and run through the Cecilia Forest in small groups, exiting at Top Tap for the third coke stop.

After that you can choose to come home through Wynberg Park (fourth coke stop at the entrance to the Military Hospital), or through the green belts, or back along Brommersvlei.

The full run is about 16 kms, the shorter versions between 12 and 14 kms.

Thanks to Hillary Colley who is doing the coke truck for us.

Best wishes.

This Sunday, 21 February, we will run from the pavilion car park in Muizenburg, leaving at 7.00 am.

We run along the cat walk to St James, then on the pavements through Kalk Bay to Fish Hoek, and then along to Glencairn.

Some guys turn back at Fish Hoek, which will give a 12 km run, whilst others turn back at Glencairn giving them an 18 km run.

Thanks to Alison Rayner who will be doing the coke truck.

Sunday, 14 February 2010 - Hout Bay (18 kms)

On Valentine's Day (14 Feb 10), we will be running from Hout Bay, direction to be decided on the day.

The first option is from the Chapman's Peak Hotel car park up to the Chapman's Peak Observation point, back down to the garage just past the start, up the main road to the second circle (near the police station) left into the road which takes us to Victoria Mall, down the hill into the village, round the harbour, back to Mariner's Warf, and then back to the start.(20 kms).

The second option is up the main road to Victoria Mall, and then up Suikerbossie to the smart housing development, through it and out the back gate, past the world of birds, past Victoria Mall again, down the hill into the village, round the harbour, back to Mariner's Warf, and then back to the start.(18 kms).

Ali & I are away this week, but the Coke truck is being done by Brenda Parker and Ginette Flockton.

Best wishes
